UFC 5 style guide

During the preproduction phase of UFC 5, I was tasked with creating a UI style guide that complimented the visual identity of the new title. This included establishing the design standards and specifications of various buttons, widgets, UI graphical elements, typographic usage, iconography and more.

The core pillar of the UFC 5 visual identity was “Beautiful Violence”, which is the idea of emphasizing/augmenting UFC 5’s move to a new engine with higher graphical fidelity, and the move to a Mature rating which allowed for more visceral depictions of the sport. Below is a sampling of various style frames that the team created in support of Beautiful Violence, and my task was to distill this aesthetic into practical UI applications.
